Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore, V for Vendetta takes place in an alternate vision of Britain. Here, a corrupt and abusive totalitarian government has risen to complete power.
In the futuristic landscape of totalitarianism, a man cloaked in mystery ignites a revolution. He finds an unlikely ally in a seemingly mild-mannered young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman). Evey is rescued from a life-and-death situation by this mystery vigilante (Hugo Weaving) - a caped figure who calls himself V and who is both articulate and skilled in combat.
<h3><span style="color: #993366;">Who is V?</span></h3>
V embodies the principles of rebellion from an authoritarian state. He has donned a mask of vilified would-be terrorist of British history Guy Fawkes and is leading a revolution. One sparked by assassination and destruction.
Evey Hammond ends up taking part in an unlikely but instrumental mission. She learns a general summary of V's past and, after a time, decides to help him bring down the fascist government that has taken control of Great Britain, along with those who committed the atrocities that led to Britain being in the shape that it is in. Evey becomes his unlikely ally, newly aware of the cruelty of her own society and her role in it.

V for Vendetta is an inspiration to all those who are awake and who can see what is going on in the world. This movie has motivated many to speak out against corruption and to make their fellow-man aware of the spell that they are under.
